Cupcake Hat

These hats are so cute and were so fun to make.  I was asked to make these as party favours for a cupcake party, how cute is that!!!!
I had to make it up as I went and I think it turned out really well.  These were made for 4-5 year olds.

Here's how I made them:
Supplies : 6.5mm crochet hook
Bulky yarn, I used charisma, what ever colours you want your cupcake to be
Red heart soft red and brown yarn for the cherry
I used red heart soft for the sprinkles, again what ever colour you like
                 Fibrefill for the cherry

How I did it:

Hat:

Rnd 1 with the cupcake colour (pink), ch3 and make a circle, ch1 10 hdc in circle, join with sl st to first hdc
Rnd 2 ch1, 2hdc in each hdc around, join with sl st to first hdc
Rnd 3 ch1, *hdc in first hdc, 2hdc in next hdc* rpt from *-* around, join with sl st to first hdc
Rnd 4 ch1, *hdc in frist 2hdc, 2hdc in next hdc* rpt *-* around, join with sl st to first hdc
Rnd 5 ch1, hdc around, join with sl st to first hdc
Rnd 6-11 rpt last round, add cupcake "wrapper" color (brown)
Rnd 12 ch1, sc around, join with sl st to first sc
Rnd 13-15 rpt last round, finish off and weave in ends
sew on sprinkles

Cherry:

Rnd 1 with red ch2, 6sc in second ch from hook (this is worked continuously so add marker to first sc in rnd)
Rnd 2 2sc in each sc
Rnd 3 sc in each sc
Rnd 4 sc in each sc
Rnd 5 2sctog all round, I stuff it at this point
Rnd 6 2sctog around, finish and leave a tail long enough for sewing

Stem:

With brown, ch5 finish and weave the end down the chain and attach to the top of the cherry and attach the cherry to the hat.
Note: the cherry in the picture below was made too big and I didn't like it and I forgot to take a picture of the smaller one.

That is how I did it, they take about an hour total in time.

Enjoy!!
